Happy New Year everybody – is it too late in the month to say that? :) Well, I wish you all an abundance of love, light and peace this year.
I am really pleased to announce that I will be running a weekly Parent and Child (5-7 YO) yoga class at St Michael and All Angels Church, and on a monthly basis as Pilates Corp in West Ealing.
The theme for our yoga practise in January is focus and balance, we will explore yoga poses and breathing exercises to help ground our children and bring them some stability during what can be a hectic time of year as children return to school and re-start an array of activities outside of school. Yoga can provide a safe space to slow down and calm down,. Johanna is a parent who attended my class with her daughter and commented that,
'The class was calm, Rupy had a nice voice, with a nice slow pace and no rushing.'
Parent and child yoga provides a great opportunity for you to connect with your child as well as the inner child in yourself! My classes are designed to help us all slow down whilst still having fun, through poses, song, games, story, dance and whatever creative vibes take us on the day! My wish is for our regular yoga practise together to help to build our children’s concentration, confidence, strength and flexibility.
We’ll be exploring focus and balance through poses such as tree pose, one of my favourites, which I love to practise both standing up and lying down in bed – yoga can be pretty mobile :) Our yoga practise is not confined to the class room or to a mat, and I will be showing you ways to incorporate this into every-day life with your children. We will go beyond the poses, as yoga is a way of being and I can’t wait to share Dr Wayne Dyer’s book ‘Incredible You’ with the children. Wayne’s words are so inspiring and uplifting for both children and adults, he has had a great impact on my journey.
There is lots to look forward to! Poppy is a parent who attended my class with her son, Poppy said she would definitely recommend my class and commented on my‘excellent engagement with the children, very reassuring.’I would love to see you on the mat with your child / children!
